Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Fleet Planner — setup, capabilities, dispatch modes, and technical details.
Is Fleet Planner a web app or a desktop application?
Fleet Planner is a web application built with Flutter Web. It runs in any modern desktop browser — no installation required. It is optimised for desktop screens with a 3-column layout. There is no downloadable desktop client.
Can I use Fleet Planner on a tablet?
Fleet Planner is designed exclusively for desktop browsers. The 3-column dispatch dashboard requires a full-size screen for optimal workflow. Tablet and mobile layouts are not supported at this time.
Does Fleet Planner work offline?
No. Fleet Planner requires an internet connection because it needs real-time communication with drivers and customers. However, Driver Pro (the companion driver app) does support offline mode for field operations in areas with poor connectivity.
How does auto-dispatch work?
Fleet Planner offers three dispatch modes, configured at the supplier level:
- Full Autopilot — the system assigns all incoming orders automatically based on delivery zone, vehicle capacity, and time windows.
- Zone-Based Auto — orders are automatically distributed to vehicles within their delivery zone, but the dispatcher reviews and confirms before dispatch.
- Co-Pilot (Manual) — the dispatcher controls everything via drag-and-drop, with the system providing suggestions and real-time feedback.
Can the dispatcher change a route after it is dispatched?
Before the driver starts the route — yes. The dispatcher can return the route to "planned" status and make any modifications (add/remove stops, reorder, change vehicle). After the route is "in progress," changes follow a separate cancellation flow managed through configurable FlowSchemas.
Does Fleet Planner generate invoices?
Yes. Swiss QR-Bill invoices are generated automatically when a delivery is completed. Invoicing frequency is configurable per company: per delivery (immediate), weekly batch, monthly batch, or manual trigger. Invoices are generated through the BackOffice integration and comply with Swiss payment standards.
What languages does Fleet Planner support?
English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Arabic (with full RTL support) — switchable per user. The language preference applies to the entire interface, including date/time formats, status labels, and exported documents.
How long does it take to set up Fleet Planner?
Most clients are live within one week. The Integration Phase (used by 90% of clients) includes data migration from existing systems, dispatcher training, delivery zone and dispatch slot configuration, and print form setup. Self-service onboarding is also available.
Can B2B customers see their delivery ETA?
Yes, through the Supply Now portal. ETA visibility is configurable per client — the supplier manager decides which customers see live ETA updates. When enabled, customers see the estimated arrival time for their delivery, updated in real time as the driver progresses along the route.
What happens when a vehicle reaches capacity?
Behaviour is configurable per company with three enforcement modes: hard block (no more orders accepted — also enforced during customer checkout in Supply Now), warning with manager override, or soft limit (warning only, no enforcement). Capacity is validated both during dispatch planning in Fleet Planner and during customer checkout in Supply Now.
