Real-time weight tracking for every vehicle. Prevent overloading with configurable enforcement modes.
Weight Tracking
Every vehicle in Fleet Planner has a defined weight capacity in kilograms. As orders are assigned to a route, the system tracks cumulative weight against the vehicle limit in real time.
Capacity bar colour coding
- radio_button_checkedBlue (0–70%) — Normal load. Plenty of capacity remaining.
- radio_button_checkedYellow (70–90%) — Approaching capacity. Dispatcher should be aware.
- radio_button_checkedRed (90–100%+) — At or over capacity. Action may be required.
The capacity bar is visible on every route card in the right sidebar. It updates instantly as orders are dragged on or off a route. The dispatcher always knows how much space remains on each vehicle.
Block / Warn / Soft
Behaviour when a vehicle reaches capacity is configurable per supplier. Three enforcement modes are available:
Hard Block
Orders cannot be added when the vehicle is full. Also enforced during checkout in Supply Now — customers cannot place orders that would exceed vehicle capacity for their delivery slot.
Warning with Override
The dispatcher sees a warning but can approve the overload. Requires manager-level permission. Useful for slight overages on bulky but lightweight items.
Soft Limit
Warning only — no enforcement. The capacity bar turns red, but orders can still be added. Suitable for companies where weight is approximate.
Capacity validation runs at two points: during dispatch planning in Fleet Planner, and during customer checkout in Supply Now. This prevents overloading fines, vehicle damage, and customer frustration.
